The Creative Body Based Learning (CBL) program – imported from a similar University of Texas initiative and developed by the University of South Australia, the SA Education Department, and several local arts organisations – was first piloted last year at two schools.

The artists, who range from people in theatre to ceramics experts, use their trades to help teachers make maths more creative and interesting. Associate professor Kathryn Dawson, drama education expert at the University of Texas who oversaw the US version, said while this program solely focuses on maths, it can be used for other subjects.
