Over the last five months, I’ve been working with the BBC on an initiative called Build It Scotland. A project designed to give children across Scotland the opportunity to explore their local and national history through the man-made structures around them and then recreate it in Minecraft on the PC/Mac, tablets or Raspberry Pi, and also using TinkerCAD. Each childs work will be showcased on a BBC Minecraft gallery map, accessible to the public, and one version of each building made will also be featured on a publicly available Minecraft map of Scotland. A flat, caricature map of the entire country, on which the structures will be placed on location, so anyone can fly over the world and view them. The maps are planned for launch in May 2016, with a population period of May to October 2016.
