The only way the “Internet of Things” will help with student learning is if the student is in charge of it. Can students program their own devices to do what they want? Can students learn how the world works behind the scenes so they can make it their own? Can they invent, make, and tinker?

I like this article for the issues it raises and the assertion that data has to be in the hands of the learner.  

I think it misses the mark when ti says we will be hearing about this… it began a long time ago.

In the hands of traditional “teacher-in-control” models of education the yoke of big data is likely to be oppressive…
